LIVE TALKS

We offer three talks either via Zoom or live and designed for camera clubs.

The Zoom talks fee is £50. Live talks are free apart from travel expenses at the usual PAGB rates (currently 45p per mile to and from our home in Colwyn Bay, North Wales), plus if more than one hour travelling from home, one night’s B&B and evening meal.

Summary of Talks Offered:

TALK 1 – The Art of Composite Photography

The talk will cover the thinking behind some of the images. The fun involved both on the shoot and playing with Photoshop afterwards. Hints, tips and plenty more. Deconstructing images and making a composite image live. Sharon shows her FIPA (Fellow of the Irish Photographic Association) Panel.

We have timed the talk so that it fits in with typical camera club requirements: Rob will take the first half for around 45mins, then we will have a short break, following which Sharon will take the second half - again for around 45 mins. Then we are happy to chat and answer questions.

TALK 2 – At Home with the Prenton Joneses

This talk is also crammed full of hints and tips covering everything from shooting images to post-processing afterwards. We have listened to participants from previous talks and included detailed explanations for lots of the questions asked. Rob will talk about lighting, perspective and shadows show his AWPF panel on chocolate photography. Sharon will show her MFIAP (Masters of the International Federation of Photographic Art) portfolio, and will also cover several techniques such as blending methods, colour matching, making mist and more. In addition, Sharon will create a composite image from start to finish.

Once again, we have timed the talk so that it fits in with typical camera club requirements: Rob will take the first half for around 45 mins, then we will have a short break, following which Sharon will take the second half - again for around 45 mins. Then we are happy to chat and answer questions.

TALK 3 – Creative Photography: From initial idea to the final execution

This talk will cover the thinking process that underlies our creative photography – both with composite work and straight images. In addition to showing our workflow from the very start of the process to the end, we will specifically focus on one of the questions we are most frequently asked: “where do you get your ideas from?”. We will spend some time suggesting ways to develop this initial creativity and to make inspiration more likely. In this talk Sharon will show her MPAGB (Master of Photographic Alliance of Great Britain) Panel.
